Holiday villages usually comprise a variety of types of accommodation on a large complex, with the majority provided in custom-built spaces, such as chalets or hotel rooms. There will be a range of facilities and activities available, which may or may not be included in the tariff.

Holiday village designators

Within the scheme, there is a choice of designator to allow you to obtain a rating which matches your type of business and give potential guests an idea of what to expect. At the time of your assessment, you will have the chance to discuss your designator with the assessor.

Holiday village: This will be made up of a variety of types of accommodation but some must be fixed or permanent. There will be a swimming pool and a licensed bar on site, and a range of entertainment, sports and leisure facilities available throughout the operating season

Forest holiday village: As well as meeting the criteria above, this will be in a forest setting with conservation and sustainable tourism being a key feature
