Woodchester Mansion is an unfinished masterpiece. It is a grade I listed Victorian Gothic house hidden in Woodchester Park (the Mansion is not NT). Building started about in about 1857 and stopped in the mid-1860s. Floors and ceilings are missing, walls are not plastered, and windows were left unglazed, which means that all the secrets of construction of the Mansion are visible – something visitors will rarely see in another country house.
