Opened in a garage in 1994, and growing rapidly since, The Heritage Centre Bellingham explores the history, industry and culture of the North Tyne and Rede valleys. There are galleries on mining, farming, and the railways, as well as a preserved smithy. The tea rooms are in two converted railway carriages, and there’s plenty for the kids to do.
