Accredited Attraction
A popular city centre attraction, the Museum is in the beautiful Oaklands Park on Moulsham Street. Part of the museum is closed and undergoing a major redevelopment, thanks to investment by Chelmsford City Council and 1.4 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund. Essex Regiment, Bright Sparks and Essex Yeomanry museum remain open. The whole museum re-opens with an exciting program of events, kicking off with a celebration of Chelmsford’s history during the school summer holidays.
